Dear Friends,
ENDOSCOPY FOR THE SURGEONS
New year Greetings from “MGM's Centre of Excellence for Gastroenterology and Advanced Minimal Access Surgery”.
As we step into a new year, we reflect on the incredible strides that have been made in the field of surgery, particularly in minimally invasive techniques. With advancements in technology, we now have a broader armamentarium for managing surgical diseases, making it increasingly crucial to stay ahead in acquiring the latest skills and technologies to offer the best possible treatment options for our patients.
Endoscopy, which was originally used as a diagnostic tool for gastrointestinal issues, has significantly evolved into advanced therapeutic procedures such as Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) and Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM). With the future promise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Surgery, we are confident that even more sophisticated and complex procedures will soon be possible using endoscopes.
In many parts of India, surgeons are the primary caregivers for abdominal cases, which means it is essential for them not only to master basic diagnostic endoscopy but also to gain proficiency in advanced therapeutic techniques. This will ensure that we are able to offer the most effective minimally invasive treatments, which patients now demand and expect.
The Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) is dedicated to enhancing the surgical skills of its members. One of its key missions is to promote and train surgeons in endoscopic surgical skills, and this conference aligns perfectly with that vision.
We are confident that this conference will be a milestone in advancing our collective expertise and will greatly contribute to the mission and vision of ASI. This is a unique opportunity for endoscopy training tailored specifically for surgeons, under the esteemed aegis of the Association of Surgeons of India.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to all of you to be part of this extraordinary endoscopy event. We look forward to an enriching experience together!
